– “Carswell’s Guide to Being Lucky,” a story about Carswell Thorne’s schooldays. – “The Queen’s Army,” a Scarlet prequel focused on Wolf’s “creation” as a member of Queen Levana’s wolf hybrid forces. – “Glitches,” also a Cinder prequel that introduces a young Cinder to her adoptive family as well as Iko, her future android friend. – “The Keeper,” a Cinder prequel featuring Michelle Benoit, Cinder’s Earthen caretaker. As a whole, this collection is well-presented and organized – not to mention that gorgeous cover! 🙂 While many times such series tie-ins can feel like cash grabs, Stars Above makes for good reading overall with its decently-crafted sci-fi tales, most of which offer a glimpse, either from the past or the future, of some of the Lunar Chronicles‘ primary characters.Ĭoncerning the stories themselves, this anthology contains the following nine short stories (in order of appearance):

However, being a fan of Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles series, I decided to check this out due to its promise to offer stories adding to or expanding upon the backgrounds of the series’ main characters. Short story collections and anthologies aren’t normally on my reading radar because I tend to favor novels.
